Service Description

As a labor and delivery nurse I often had clients who would tell me "I don't want an epidural" but when asked what they planned to use for pain management instead they'd answer "I don't know. I just don't want an epidural." Unfortunately these women often did end up with an epidural, because avoiding one starts well before labor begins. In this workshop we'll discuss steps you can take now to avoid an epidural in labor. Some are things you can be doing throughout your whole pregnancy, but many of these can be done in the last trimester or last month of pregnancy. If you're someone who knows you want an epidural, then I want that for you. This workshop isn't for you. For me, avoiding an epidural was not about being a hero. The thought of getting a needle in my back and not being able to feel or use my legs was much more scary than labor, if you asked me. Whatever you choose, I want to help you have the most up to date information and resources available to make your decisions.
